Lunasol Summer 2011 makeup collection - part II

Just want to shout it loud that I heart Lunasol :)

After few days of 'war' in my head, I cannot withstand the temptation not to pass up EX 02, simply because of the gorgeous colours and the words "Limited Edition".  Yes, I'm a sucker for limited edition stuff, you can call me a LE woman whatever :)..

EX 02 vacation ocean 4-colour eye shadow palette

From left to right:
Main colour - Clear blue
Nuance colour - rosy pink with a hint of gold undertone
High light colour - sheer white
Shade colour - deep blue colour (mid-night blue)
with noticeable glitters (great for smoky eyes)
At first glance, I thought that the colours are not wearable for every day look.  This palette proved me wrong!  It came out that the colours are lighter than what you see from the palette.  I would say that light-handed technique is required to apply the eye shadow in order to archieve the natural ocean summer look.  In overall, this eye shadow is pigmented and pearly which gives a fantastic finishing.  Please click here for Jie Jie's review on  Lunasol EX 01 - Shelly Ocean.  EX 02 is very summer ocean feel which exactly match the summer theme.  It is a palette to die for.

Also added to Jie Jie's inventory is Lunasol blusher, the only blusher in this Summer Collection 2011^^ (phew....luckily).
EX-02 Clear Coral Pink, 10g, S$39
It is a refill pack in a plastic compact.  I did not get the case simply to minimise storage space (good excuse to save money^^).
Soft coral pink with very fine shimmers
P/s  sadly, some letters are partially gone after few swatches (arghh...)
Last but not least, also picked up this fabulous bright rosy Lunasol nail polish.
Lunasol Nail Finish EX 30 Clear Rose (S$ 23.50 - 10ml)

I prefer applying it to toe nails as the shade is too loud for finger nails.
Hope this conclude Jie Jie's collection on Lunasol Summer 2011 for now^^

P/s My buddy - Cutie Fishball highlighted that Lunasol has also launched Lunasol exlusive summer kit 2011 (Japan exclusive only) in early June 2011, please click here to view the whole set of EX 03 Summer Ocean.  In Jie Jie's view, the shades are warm tone and more or less a similar version of EX 01 Shelly Ocean.

Clarisonic Plus

So excited that my buddy ~ Cutie Fishball got me Clarisonic Plus from a online shop!

The set comes with:

(a) Clarisonic Plus (with 3-speed settings for facial and body)

This cleansing brush has an unique flower-print design and purple is my favourite colour^^.  I think the design is a limited edition.

(b) A charging cradle
It is compatible with international and domestic outlets (100-240 volts AC; 50/60 Hz) with the respective country plug adaptor
It has to be charged overnight (at least 24 hours) for first time use.  A full charge (4 green lights) allows up to 30 minutes of use and about 20 minutes of use with the optional body brush head.

(c) 3 types of brush head for face - for all skin types

Brush head with grey base - for normal skin and it is also ideal for use on the body.

Brush head in pale blue base - for delicate skin (ultra sensitive skin). It is ideal for skin sensitivities like rosacea and acne-prone skin
Brush head in white base - for sensitive skin and ideal for body as well.
It is recommended to remove the brush head and clean it weekly with soap and warm water, and replace the brush heads every 3 to 4 months.

(d) A body brush head

Clarisonic Body Brush Head - a gentle brush that is used on body especially decollete, hands, arms, elbows and feet. It also helps to exfoliate rough or dry patches and prepare our skin to better absorb skin care products.
The benefits of the Clarisonic Body Brush Head are:
  • Noticeably softer and smoother skin
  • Firmer skin, with improved texture
  • Fewer dry patches
  • Better absorption of skin care products in areas cleansed with the Body Brush Head

 (e) Clarisonic refining skin polish for body

The Clarisonic refining skin polish has antioxidants green tea and wine extracts, jojoba beads, prickly pear, bamboo and acai fruit oil.
Benefits include:
  • gentle exfoliation
  • increased skin firmness
  • skin brightening
  • softening and soothing

(f) Philosophy one-step facial cleanser

 This cleanser helps to:
  • deep cleans pores and eliminates makeup build-up
  • hydrate and melt away makeup
It is fragrance-free with pleasant scent (more of rosewood scent) and fragrance-free.

(g) Philosophy life's a beach - shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath

It has a tropical furit scent (as you can see from the product packaging) due to pineapple and coconut extracts, very refreshing and wonderful smell.

(h) Philosophy hope in a jar

It hydrates and reduce the effect of environmental attack so as to achieve healthy-looking skin with a rosy glow.

I have already tested it for about a week and will post up my thoughts on Clarisonic Plus soon^^.

Lunasol Summer 2011 makeup collection

Lunasol Summer 2011 makeup collection has finally launched at Takashimaya Singapore in early June 2011 (the one and only counter in Singapore).  The theme of the collection is Ocean Scene which is inspired by summer ocean.  All the items in this collection are limited colours as follow:

(Source: Lunasol-net.com Summer Collection 2011)

For practical reason, I picked up EX 01 - Shelly Ocean.^^

Each shadow has letters printed on it.  However, these letters are so 'fragile' and fade away easily.
The case has LUNASOL logo over it, very uniquely Lunasol.

Limited edition - EX01 Shelly Ocean (7g) at S$77
Japan retail price (printed on the box) is Yen 5,000 which is almost equivalent to S$77 (inclusive of 7% GST)^^

The how-to-use instruction is enclosed in the box

From left to right:
Main colour - Light beige
Nuance colour - beige with gold undertone
High light colour - sheer beige
Shade colour - deep beige with noticeable glitters
                          (great for smoky eyes)
I really amazed by the pigmentation of the eye shadows when I swatched it.  It is a warm tone with generous amount of shimmers (except for deep beige which has noticeable glitters).  The texture of the eye shadow is surprisingly silky and smooth which I absolutely love!  The colours also show up instantly with just one swatch (especially deep beige).  Either use dry or wet, it can be applied alone or together with eye shadow to create the perfect deeply-nuanced eyes.  I do notice that this Summer collection has less shimmery than their past collections, that's why I love about this collection.

If you prefer a natural and fresh look, this palette is definitely for you.  It is a must-have Summer essentials for sure!!

P/s I'm still contemplating whether to get EX02 vacation ocean, should I or shouldn't I?

Love package from Cutie Fishball ~ Part 1 (Nail Polish)

Following up on my last post (Love package from Cutie Fishball).  Here's part 1 - O.P.I. Nail Polish.

Rosy Future and I juggle.. men (limited edition)

I juggle.. men is a clear shade with fine pink particle in it, definitely great for base and top coat.

Rosy Future is a soft pink shade with purple undertone.

Rosy future -  applied two coats, left a translucent hint of soft pink on my nails.
Perfect for french manicures!

Applied "I juggle men" as a top coat, making the soft pink looks alluring
What's great about OPI nail polish is it contains no DBP, toluene, or formaldehyde, and features OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.  I like the pro-wide brush making it easier to apply and it dries well too!

Dior Addict lipstick is must-have fashion accessory.  Why?  This is because each shade represents a woman's fashion style!  For example, pick 561 Baby Rose for a innocence and seductive baby doll look as this shade reflects as "A tender, fleeting pink, paying homage to the baby doll look, feigning innocence for disarming seduction".  My pick of 621 Granville reflected as "A rosewood shade with mauve acents, paying homage to the ever-inspiring charm of lost paradises and memories of youth", very interesting fashion style:).
621 Granville - S$ 42 (3.5g)

Dior addict has won me over when I tried it on.  It glides on smoothly (maybe due to gel-like texture) with beautiful shine effect.   The texture is creamy and moisturising.  The transparent-meets-opaque silver casing as compared to Chanel Rouge Coco Shine's classic dark casing, is definitely more appealing, chic and distinctive (indeed "be Iconic!").  621 Granville is definitely a flattering colour for me (as compared to Chanel #62 Monte Carlo).  Gosh, I'm addicted to Dior Addict now!

What does your favourite Dior Addict lipstick say about you?  Please share:)

Chanel Summer 2011 Collection

My first impression on Chanel Summer 2011 collection is the pretty pink and shimmering yellow-gold colours, very refreshing and vibrant.

Click here to view: Chanel Summer 2011 Collection

#32 Lilium - S$87
I picked up Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in #32 Lilium.  Chanel lady at the counter told me that this is the first time Chanel come up with turquoise colour in this Summer Collection.

From left to right in cockwise - peach-tinged pink (close to pink champagne), deep teal green (close to turquoise), pinky mauve (close to grey), and light celadon green (ligther green).  These pastel eyeshadows have subtle shimmer and sheer.

The texture is sheer and shimmery, it can be applied wet for intense colour
But I noticed that the eyeshadow packaging is different from the US version (see attached).  Maybe someone can enlighten me on this?  The eyeshadow in this picture is more refined than the one that I got.

Next item is Chanel long-lasting eyeliner in Rose Platine (limited edition).

Chanel long-lasting eyeliner - S$ 35

Initially, I thought the shade is in rosy colour but in fact the shimmer colour is in between silver and bronze.  This eyeliner glides on smoothly and compliment well with lighter eyeshadows.  I think it is a versatile eyeliner that can be used as highlighter as well as eyeshadow.  Note that it is waterproof.

Moving on to the gorgeous limited edition nail polish which I obsolutely love!
S$ 36, 13ml
From left to right, Le Vernis 577 Mimosa is a shimmering yellow and Le Vernis 557 Morning Rose is in pink.

Two coats are good to match the bottled colour perfectly. The brush is slightly small and a bit fast drying.  You need patience when you apply Mimosa.  It is not easy to apply as two coats cannot cover the nail completely, with obvious streaky lines.  Practice makes perfect!

Pretty pink with gold sparkles
Morning rose is definitely wearable for work. I don't know why but these shades somehow linked me to watermelon, just too sweet to pass up!

I'm going to get Chanel bronzer and Le Vernis 567 Beige Petale which is the perfect blend of neutral beige and natural pink, hope it is still available:).
